Joshua W. Allen Sr.

Joshua W. Allen, Sr. is the President of J. Allen Management Co., Inc., a fully integrated property management firm operating in Texas and New Mexico, specializing in affordable multifamily housing. With more than 40 years of experience across all asset classes of apartment management and development, he brings a depth of knowledge and leadership that has shaped the company’s long-standing success.

Mr. Allen is recognized for his commitment to integrity, operational excellence, and quality performance—values that continue to define J. Allen Management’s reputation in the industry. He holds multiple professional designations, including CAM, CAPS, CAMT II, and NAHP Executive, reflecting his comprehensive expertise across both management and maintenance disciplines.

His industry leadership is equally distinguished. Mr. Allen served 38 years on the Board of Directors of the Texas Apartment Association, including six terms on its Executive Committee, and as State President in 2007–2008—becoming the first African American to hold that role. He currently serves on the Board of the Houston Apartment Association, where he has been honored as Director Emeritus. Locally, he has served three terms as President of the Apartment Association of Southeast Texas.

Beyond the industry, Mr. Allen has demonstrated a deep commitment to public service. He served 38 years on the Board of Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6, including five years as President. His contributions have earned him national recognition, including “President of the Year” from the National Apartment Association and “Contractor of the Year” from the Triplex Minority Business Council.

In recognition of his lasting impact on the Southeast Texas community, a highway in Beaumont was named in his honor. He also established the Joshua Allen Scholarship in Criminal Justice at Lamar University, reflecting his dedication to education and future generations.
