J. Allen Management Company, Inc., a Beaumont, Texas based fully integrated management firm, in business since 1981 specializes in managing multi-family properties, and affordable housing communities. J. Allen Management Company, Inc. also provides consulting service to real estate investments.

     With over 3,400 units in our portfolio, our company has expertise in making initial assessments and developing comprehensive plans to bring properties in compliance with all housing and building codes, and compliance with all governmental regulations.  Many of the properties have Section-8 housing assistance, which requires intensive oversight to keep up with the changes in regulations and market conditions.

     JAMC serves multi-family properties in Houston, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Lufkin, San Augustine and Bridge City, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana. At take over, several of these properties were considered troubled assets.  They had unsatisfactory physical and management problems, many unoccupied units, and poor fiscal accountability.  All of these properties have become high performing assets.

     J. Allen Management Company, Inc. provides customers with professional service by a staff of highly trained personnel with many years of construction, maintenance and management experience.  The J. Allen Management staff is composed of professionals who hold certifications in COS (Certified Occupancy Specialists), CAM (Certified Apartment Manger), CAMT (Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician), CAPS (Certified Apartment Property Supervisor), and NAHP (National Assisted Housing Professional), who have provided property management solutions to the multi-family and commercial property management industry for more than twenty-five (25) years. The staff enhances its ability to provide customer satisfaction and is very dedicated to maintaining excellent housing standards.  Procedures are strictly adhered to and are in compliance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. The well-established maintenance program is proficient in providing professional and quality care to all the properties under its management.

      In addition to property management, our staff has provided consulting work and property inspections in Texas and Louisiana for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.   JAMC was hired by one of its clients to oversee a 440-unit town home property in Flint, Michigan, for a six (6) month period. Our goal was to get the property out of the jurisdiction of HUD enforcement, due to low Physical Inspection report.  JAMC hired the staff, developed a plan, addressed the maintenance, trained the staff, purchased inventory, and completed all of the 2,000 deferred work orders in five (5) months. The property passed the next inspection and the JAMC staff was able to leave the property, turning the management over to the newly hired and trained staff.  Two follow-up inspections were performed to ensure that the staff was following-up on maintaining the property and adhering to the preventative maintenance program that was developed by our staff.  JAMC helped this property to continue receiving Section-8 assistance and reduced maintenance cost by training staff and not being dependent on outside contractors for all the work.  The preventative maintenance program also helped to reduce cost in replacement of equipment and appliances.
